Wildflowers, Bees & Butterflies

As the Summer Solstice approaches, I remember It is my most revered time of the year. Nothing is in waiting & dormant like Winter. Nothing is slowing and harvesting like the fall. Nothing is defrosting & budding like Spring. In Summer things just are… Summer reminds me of studying language in Grade School, and being presented with the concept of “to be”. That is what summer is. Pure existence and identity. Full bloom. Full budding. Flourished plants abundant everywhere. Currently in my herb garden I can see; Rosemary, Slippery Elm, Peppermint, Spearmint, Red Clover, Echinacea, California Poppy, Lavender, Lemon Balm, and Tobacco respectively. In my husbands sector he has Cilantro and Basil, that he prides himself on using in as many meals as possible. Each year some plants grow older, some pass on, new ones get seeded. Summer is the reflection of the grand cycle in its peak.

As I was sitting in my garden today I decided to observe the bees. I flipped my chair around and decided to tune into their frequency and see what they could tell me. I was quick to recall the things I knew about bees. Bees are pollinators. Bees can remember human faces. A single bee can visit 2000 flowers per day. Bees dance to tell their friends about food. Bees are 5th dimensional beings. After recognizing and appreciating their species attributes, I noticed there was at least 4 different species of bees hanging out on my Echinacea. All in harmony. No fighting. No quarrels on politics or religion. Just existing together and co-existing in harmony, at least in my acre of land on this planet. Suddenly Butterfly came into the same patch of plant. Hanging out amongst the bee people, unaffected, not afraid. Pollinating together on the same frequency. Working together to survive, provide, and create endless amounts of bounty of pure energy for the future of their species, the plants of the world, and my garden. Just like us. All of us.

Spiritually, the solstice invites us to pause and honor the light within and around us—to celebrate what has blossomed, express gratitude for the present moment, and release what no longer serves us as the wheel of the year turns. It is a beautiful time to gather in community, connect with nature, and reflect on the balance between holding on and letting go. I hope this Solstice I can honor the bees, and learn to be more like them.

Solstice Blessings.
